Black Cat Roundabout was birthed in 2011 by Sophia Efthimiou and Alice Kirby - a folk singer and musician from East London. The pair have been singing together since they met in Brighton in 2006. Five years later they collaborated with Sarah Thomas and Anna Gormley to form this group singing a quirky blend of songs inspired by the traditions of close female harmony singing from 1920’s Jazz, Gospel, Eastern European, British Folk and R’n’B.

 

The four have not performed together for some time as they are now persuing their own individual projects, but are hoping for a reunion tour in the near future. Alice Kirby and Sarah Thomas, along with Pete Thomas, will be releasing their album in Autumn 2014 with their band 'The Night Jar.
